How to make a chair look fresh again

I found some great inspirational pictures on Design Sponge's Blog (pictures above courtesy of Design Sponge). I was able to get a chair from Craig's List (see picture below) for free (!) and I'm hoping to re-upholster the cushions and paint the frame of the chair.
